Welcome

Welcome to my exciting new blog for my website, Linda Kitson Photography. Many thanks to the very talented Jared, of Professionalphotographertheme.com for creating such a great look, and helping me to get this all installed. I am a portrait photographer, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and specialise in maternity, newborn, baby, child and family photography.

Here I will advise details of any new special promotions or products that I have coming for my studio, and will also share favourite images from my sessions, and other information that I want to share with everyone.

I am very excited about my new venture, and being able to do this is certainly like a dream come true. I am most comfortable behind the lens, and adore looking at photos - I think it is looking at cherished images that makes me realise just how fluid time is, and how important it is to capture the here and now of your life, no matter what stage it is. No one is going to come up with a sign telling you when the right time is to take your portraits - the right time is always now.

I would love to be able to capture your shots, for no matter what stage your family is at, whether it is maternity, newborn, baby, or family shots that you have in mind. Please check out my website, and then contact me to book your session - I would love to help you turn your moments into lasting memories.

Miss A - newborn sweetness

On Monday I had the utter pleasure of meeting Miss A and her family.  She was a real trooper, slept through nearly the entire shoot, only rousing once when she was hungry.  We were dripping with sweat at the end, as we had the temperature right up so that she was comfortable, but it was definitely worth it.

Mr D and his family

This session was just so much fun to shoot, I was actually having to put my camera down sometimes as I was laughing so hard.  Mr D is a natural model, not to mention a real funny guy, working for pez, and then telling me when he thought I had gotten a great shot and what the pez rating was.  And he was just about spot on the money, he knew how to work that camera good.  Hope you enjoy the sneak peak C & C, will have the gallery ready soon

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Whilst it is still Christmas Day (though not for too much longer), just like to wish everyone that they have a safe and happy Christmas holidays, and that they have a healthy and prosperous new year.

My new years aim - to lose some weight!!! and grow my business - stay tune for some exciting coming attractions

Miss J - sweet 4 month old

I met the most gorgeous little Miss J last week.  Whilst mum was not sure whether she was going to give us anything, as she was not being her usual smiling little self, but with a bit of hard work, not to mention the aid of a musical aid or 2, we were soon getting Miss J into the swing of things.  Hope you enjoy the sneek peak mum

Mr O - handsome 3 1/2 week old boy

I know, I have been guilty of neglecting my blog for awhile (it is one of my New Years resolutions to be a better blogger), so it is time to give it some lovin’ again.  And what better way than with the introduction of this beautiful little guy.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Mr O and his family.  Mr O was a very laid back fellow, who just didn’t want to stay asleep, despite all our best efforts, but our patience paid off, and I was able to capture these shots for mum.  Here is a quick sneak peak of a couple of the shots I have that I couldn’t wait to work on, I will have the rest ready shortly.

Casting Call

Spring is here, and with it, lots of babies, of all shapes & sizes.  So what better way to share the celebration, than with a special offer.  I would love to add some more newborns to my portfolio, so have a special offer for the first 5 newborn sessions to book - get 2 free 5 x 7 prints, and a CD of all gallery images absolutely free of charge.  Newborns must be less than 2 weeks old when session occurs.  So don’t delay, contact me via my website, I would love to capture this special time in your families life

Miss H & Mr O

I was lucky enough recently to be able to spend some time with Miss H & Mr O and their family. They are beautiful twins, and I enjoyed every moment of our time together, even obliging me by sleeping at the end of the session.

True Love

I know, I have been somewhat remiss with my blog, sometimes life gets in the way, but my mid year resolution is to post more often.

So what better a topic to get back on than True Love - yesterday we celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary.  What an achievement.  Happy anniversary mum & dad

My favourite model

Before my children came along, I had a real teddy bear fix, and was lucky enough to acquire this fellow, a Steiff bear by the name of Henderson.  Steiff bears are the most gorgeous hand made bears which come from Germany, and are very addictive to collect., in fact they have a whole section of their own on Ebay.  Once my family came along though, my bear collecting had to end.  Henderson is the perfect model though when no one else is around, he never complains about any poses, and is always happy to bear it (sorry about the bad pun there, but it just had to be said).  SO without any further ado, here is my favourite model, Henderson, in a great little hat I found on Etsy.

And of course, then along came Mr J, to see where Henderson had gone, so he happily agreed to pose for a few shots too with his friend……………

photographers kid syndrome (pks)

Blessed is the willing child who lives with a photographer - they know that they will always be on call when mum wants to test out a new technique, and there are no other victims subjects, on hand. So found out my youngest anyway, when I wanted to test out a spot in our yard.

the captive audience

He was happy to pose away, as per usual, but eventually it got too much even for him. I am sure if he was older, he would have been cursing under his breath, but luckily for me, I have a few more years yet I am sure.

but sometimes, you have just had enough......... is she done yet

I am working on some exciting new plans for my studio at the moment, including the introduction of various album options, with either coffee table style printed books, or a more traditional leather type album available to chose from when ordering session prints - a great way to display your portraits. I am very excited about these items, and as soon as I receive my samples, I will have sneek peak on here. Stay tuned!!!!
